Liberty Theater Presents
Art a la cARTe
On January 16, 2016 at the Barbey Maritime Center we will once again present Art a la cARTe, our fabulous fundraiser to benefit the Liberty Theater. This event will run from 2 to 3:30 pm and feature works of art by artists from the Northwest and around the country, all signed only on the reverse.
Each piece of art will be the same size, offered at the same $99 price, and be an original created by you! We have asked the artist, to sign their art only on the back, so you, the viewer-shoppers will not know who created each piece, you will only know you love it! The artist will be revealed upon purchase and a table will be set up so that artists can meet their patron and re-sign their art on the front.
This fabulous afternoon will feature live music, delicious food and tasty northwest wine and beer. Art a la cARTe 2016 promises once again to be a magical fall afternoon.
New this year!
Special Preview for submitting artists (only) to view all of the artwork
We will open up at 1:30 pm for contributing artists (list at the door) to view all of the submissions. Submitting artists are invited to stay for Art a la cARTe. (We still have room for you - Artist submissions are due by December 15th. Packets available in the Liberty Box Office.)

Sunday Matinee Winter Film Series 2016
Noises Off
January 17, 2016
2 pm
Directed by Peter Bogdanovich
104 minutes - March 20, 1992
The comedy where everyone gets caught in the act!
Hired to helm an Americanized take on a British play, director Lloyd Fellowes (Michael Caine) does his best to control an eccentric group of stage actors. During practice sessions, things run smoothly. However, when Lloyd and his actors begin a series of performances leading up to a Broadway premiere, chaos ensues. Star actress Dotty (Carol Burnett) is quickly passing her prime, male lead Frederick (Christopher Reeve) has no confidence, and bit actor Selsdon (Denholm Elliott) is rarely sober. Also stars: Julie Hagerty, Marilu Henner, Mark Linn-Baker, John Ritter and Nicollette Sheridan. Based on Noses Off by Michael Frayn.

Otter Creek
Liberty Theater Presents
Otter Creek
January 23, 2016 at 7:00 pm
OTTER CREEK Peter and Mary Danzig
With 10 instruments between them and 53 strings Salt Lake City based folk duo, Otter Creek burst onto the national Folk scene in 2012 with back to back hit albums on the Folk Charts. Often compared to Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer, Otter Creek’s classical training, combined with Peter’s deep roots in the folk tradition enable them to cross boundaries among musical genres.
Since they began playing together the Salt Lake City based folk duo has won numerous awards for their virtuosic instrumentals, adept songwriting, and visionary arrangements of traditional and original tunes. Their daughters (The Three Muses) travel and perform with them. Drawing frequent comparisons to the Peasall Sisters, the Muses’ three part harmony and infectious charm never fail to put a smile on every face in the room.
Currently touring coast to coast, Otter Creek has drawn praise from around the country as “a duo that is both a technical marvel and tastefully perfect.” They have just finished production of their third album “The Fiddle Preacher.”
AWARDS INCLUDE: 1st Place, Susanne Millsaps Performing Songwriter Showcase; Southwest Region Finalist/People’s Choice Winner, Mountain Stage NewSong Competition; 2nd Place, National Mandolin Championship; Utah State Fiddle, Banjo and Mandolin Champions; Winner, WVF New Songs Showcase, Winfield, KS; Best New Albums of 2012, Old Front Porch Radio; IAMA People’s choice award winners in the Folk, Old-time, and Celtic band categories; Music selected for season finale of TLC’s Sister Wives, endorsed by Weber Fine Acoustic Instruments.

Sunday Matinee Winter Film Series 2016
Singin’ In The Rain
February 7, 2016
2 pm
Directed by Stanley Donen, Gene Kelly
103 minutes - April 11, 1952
One of the best musicals ever made!
Singin' in the Rain is a 1952 American musical comedy film directed by Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen, starring Kelly, Donald O'Connor and Debbie Reynolds, and choreographed by Kelly and Donen. It offers a lighthearted depiction of Hollywood in the late '20s, with the three stars portraying performers caught up in the transition from silent films to "talkies."
The film was only a modest hit when first released, with only O'Connor's Best Comedy for Musical Lead Actor win at the Golden Globes, Betty Comden and Adolph Green's win for their screenplay at the Writers Guild of America Awards, and the best supporting actress Oscar nomination for Jean Hagen being the major recognitions. However, it was accorded its legendary status by contemporary critics. It is now frequently regarded as one of the best musicals ever made, and the best film ever made in the "Arthur Freed Unit" at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. It topped the AFI's 100 Years of Musicals list, and is ranked as the fifth greatest American motion picture of all time in its updated list of the greatest American films in 2007.

Liberty Theater Presents
Tayla Lynn (Loretta Lynn's Granddaughter) with Grammy Winning Guitarist Eric Tingstad.
‘There has never been a ‘Plan B,’ it was always music” - Tayla Lynn
Tayla Lynn is a southern girl who grew up in the heart of Tennessee, and her country bloodlines are undeniable. Her grandmother is country-music legend, Loretta Lynn, and her father, Ernie, sang and played guitar in Loretta Lynn’s band. “I can’t remember a time that I wasn’t in the wings in some town somewhere, watching my Memaw and my daddy on stage” recalls Tayla.
She was 4 or 5 the first time she remembers her Memaw taking her on stage. Lynn recounts “I started singing as soon as I opened my mouth.” As a result of nature and nurture, performing is in her blood and singing is one of the most natural and happy activities in her life.
Tayla has toured with Loretta opening her shows. It was there she was discovered and given a record deal with her trio ‘Stealing Angels.’ The girls toured the country singing in front of thousands, sang for our troops in Iraq/Kuwait and made a record with Paul Worley, who produced-Dixie Chicks, Lady A, Sara Evans, and The Band Perry. Their song "He Better Be Dead and “Paper Heart” have both made Billboard chart and the video was played on CMT and GAC.
Tayla has had the opportunity to work with some of the most brilliant songwriters and producers in Nashville. The combination of Lynn’s pure, natural vocal talent, and her innate knack for crafting a story add up to the makings of a star.
